On July 4th, Hedges-Boyer Park had a festival. In the morning we went out to the park and set up the boundaries for the fireworks. We also set up the activities that took place. Before and after the activities we collected donations at the entrances to the park. We had a corn-hole tournament for kids and also adults. We had a pet contest that we got to judge. After we had the kids do big wheel races for prizes. We then had a water balloon toss and had the kids go through a pile of hay to find money and coupons. Around 10pm we got to watch the fireworks go off and while people were leavo
On June 21st, I calculated the results from the night before's volleyball. I also fixed the score cards by putting duct tape over the ripped holes and then hole punched new holes.
On June 23rd, I helped with the concert series in Hedges-Boyer park. The Expando Band played for the public. On June 27th, I had volleyball league. Everything went normal and I was also able to go around town to take pictures of volleyball, youth baseball, men's baseball, and the disc golf league. On June 28th and July 1st, I calculated the results from the night before's volleyball. I also fixed the score cards by putting duct tape over the ripped holes and then hole punched new holes. One June 20th, we had a world camp with kids ages 7 and 8. After checking in the kids, we colored country flags and painted the kids faces. We then played some international games. Once we got back to the barn, we had a guest speaker. Giulianne spoke with the kids about Brazil. The kids then got to have lunch. After lunch we played a Brazilian game. We then took the kids to the outdoor pool. The parents then came to pick up the kids and we were able to clean up. My volleyball league was then scheduled to play. I set up the courts and let them play. I was able to use the Parks camera and take pictures of volleyball. I then cleaned up the courts.
From June 17th thru the 19th, we held a soccer camp. Each day we taught the kids the basics of soccer. They learned how to pass, dribble, shoot, and ball control. We played games like "sharks and Minos" and "head, catch". Once all the parents picked their kids up, we cleaned up. Each day we learned a different skill, but the kids really liked playing the games. We also did relay races so the kids could win prizes.
One June 13th, we had another nature camp with kids ages 9 and 10. After checking in the kids, we made Father's Day cards. We then went on a scavenger hunt. Once we got back to the barn, we played "calling all cars" and "human pac-man". The kids then got to have lunch. After lunch we played "capture the chicken". We then took the kids to the outdoor pool. The parents then came to pick up the kids and we were able to clean up. My volleyball league was then scheduled to play. I set up the courts and let them play. I then calculated the results and cleaned up the courts.
Today we had nature camp with kids ages 9 and 10. After checking in the kids, we played "Who are you" bingo. We then went on a hike to look for nature and birds. Once we got back to the barn, we did some crafts which included painting with soil, making book marks, and making a nature booklet. The kids then got to have lunch. After lunch we played a bat game, learned about animals, and played a deer hunter game. We then took the kids to the outdoor pool. The parents then came to pick up the kids and we were able to clean up.
On June 2nd, I helped set up for the concert series that took place at Hedges-Boyer park. I helped put out chairs and got equipment that the band needed. The North Coast Concert Band played for an hour and a half at the park.
One June 4th and 5th, I helped with baseball camp. I helped set up and taught the basics of baseball to the kids. They learned how to throw, catch, hit, and run the bases. We actually held a competition and the kids won prizes. One June 6th, my volleyball league was scheduled to play. I set up the courts and let them play. A player got hurt and I checked up with her the next day. I then calculated the results and cleaned up the courts. On May 10th, I helped with the Relay for Life. I walked around to help anyone that needed help and when the event started I took pictures. On May 16th, I worked on my volleyball league schedule (seen on the Projects page). I figured out the volleyball schedule with 11 teams and submitted it to all the captains.
On May 18th, I helped with the Color Run. We had to be there early in the morning to help set up. We learned the track and placed the water and paint stations along the route. We then set up road blocks so that the participants would be able to run on the streets.Once the race started, I was standing on the route making sure people went the right way. On May 30th, the first day of volleyball started at 6:30 pm. I was there at 6 to set up. I got the binder set up, score cards out, and balls out. While teams started to show up I collected money, their roster, and their signatures for liability reasons. I over saw all the games while keeping score. When all the games were done, I cleaned up the balls, score cards, and the trash around the courts. I calculated the results and sent them out to the captains. |
