Today we had nature camp with kids ages 5 and 6. After checking in the kids, we had the kids color and then went on a scavenger hunt. Once we got back to the barn, we played "duck, duck, goose". The kids then got to have lunch. After lunch we let the kids color more. We then took the kids to the outdoor pool. The parents then came to pick up the kids and we were able to clean up.
Today I helped with the Bo Reid Tournament. Friday night I met with the other volunteers and got a complement from the guy in charge for my cleaning skills of the field storage at National Machinery Field. The tournament was supposed to be Saturday but because of the storm it had to be moved for today. So today when I got to the fields, one was pretty bad. I helped get the fields ready and then checked around the other fields to see if they needed anything. I distributed shirts throughout the tournaments locations. After a long day at the fields I helped with clean up.
On July 25th, I had a crazy day. I checked in the kids at the golf course for golf camp. The kids stayed on the driving range. The kids got hot dogs, soda, and chips for the end of the golf camp party. Once the golf camp was over I headed to the nature camp. After lunch we played a bat game, learned about animals, and played a deer hunter game. We then took the kids to the outdoor pool. The parents then came to pick up the kids and we were able to clean up. My volleyball league was then scheduled to play. I set up the courts and let them play. The tournament started today. I then cleaned up the courts and calculated the results.
On July 19th, I was in charge of the PLAY day. I went out to Beechwood Park and met Andrea. She played games with the kids and they also go to make a craft. I took pictures throughout the event. When it was over the kids went around the park and picked up trash.
On July 22nd and 23rd, I helped out with golf camp. The kids went out to Seneca Hills Golf Course and got lessons from Bobby and some of his other helpers. The first day it was raining so the kids got to learn putting in the clubhouse. The second day they got to learn how to pitch and put on the green. On July 24th, I had a crazy day. I started off checking in kids at the nature camp for ages 7 and 8 and getting the tie-dye ready for them. I then ran over to the golf course for golf camp. The kids got to learn how to full swing with a driver on the driving range. Once the golf camp was over I got lunch and headed back to the nature camp. the kids played "capture the chicken" and a girl got hurt. We filled out reports while we took the kids to the pool. After the parents picked up the kids we cleaned up. One July 18th, we had a world camp with kids ages 9 and 10. After checking in the kids, we did tie-dye. Tie-dye took a really long time for set up and to get all the kids done. The kids then got to have lunch. After lunch we played games outside. We then took the kids to the outdoor pool. The parents then came to pick up the kids and we were able to clean up. My volleyball league was then scheduled to play. I set up the courts and let them play. I then cleaned up the courts and calculated the results.

On July 13th and 14th, I umpired for the coach pitch tournament. The second day I helped keep score, took pictures, and also helped with the award ceremony. On July 16th, I took over Jillian's volleyball league. I set up the courts and let them play. One of the players got hurt and I informed Jillian. I then cleaned up the courts and calculated the results. On July 4th, Hedges-Boyer Park had a festival. In the morning we went out to the park and set up the boundaries for the fireworks. We also set up the activities that took place. Before and after the activities we collected donations at the entrances to the park. We had a corn-hole tournament for kids and also adults. We had a pet contest that we got to judge. After we had the kids do big wheel races for prizes. We then had a water balloon toss and had the kids go through a pile of hay to find money and coupons. Around 10pm we got to watch the fireworks go off and while people were leavo
On June 21st, I calculated the results from the night before's volleyball. I also fixed the score cards by putting duct tape over the ripped holes and then hole punched new holes.
On June 23rd, I helped with the concert series in Hedges-Boyer park. The Expando Band played for the public. On June 27th, I had volleyball league. Everything went normal and I was also able to go around town to take pictures of volleyball, youth baseball, men's baseball, and the disc golf league. On June 28th and July 1st, I calculated the results from the night before's volleyball. I also fixed the score cards by putting duct tape over the ripped holes and then hole punched new holes. |
